The ceremony to officially vest the Isipathana Maha Vidyalaya in Medavachchiya with students was held today under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena, yesterday (04).
This school has been built at a cost of Rs. 160 million through the provisions of North-Central Provincial Council, with the objective of building a knowledge-based society.
President Sirisena planted a Na sapling in the school premises to mark this occasion. Buddhist Head of the Sri Lanka Bhikku University Ven. Dr. Kadawathgama Piyarathana Thero, Minister Duminda Dissanayake, Governor of North – Central Province P. B. Dissanayake, Chief Minister Peshala Jayarathne and the Principal of the school Mr. Nimal Gunasekara also were present at this occasion.
